We remember Kindred
Kindred has existed for nearly 6 years, and many contributors have made it the rich trove of stories, music, poetry, and art that it has become.
We encourage you, our readers and contributors, to share what Kindred has meant to you. Perhaps a particular article (or articles) spoke deeply to you at a pivotal moment. Perhaps Kindred offered you your first platform as a creative looking for a way to reach others. Or perhaps it became a part of the fabric of your seasons, something you treasured and looked forward to.

I found Kindred through a social media post from Stephanie Platter, my former English teacher and the fearless leader of the best freshman English class in the world IMO. One article in, I was hooked. I was delighted to see other women (some former teachers) contributing as well. Over the years, the writings in Kindred have inspired me to explore my own creativity and provided comfort in hearing other’s stories. While being a reader, I’ve seen my own life change in so many ways: graduation from college, moving to new homes, starting new jobs, beginning a marriage etc. I’m grateful to the women in this magazine for sharing their own seasons and life changes.
